Subject: [Ferret-Health-list] Mighty Mouse - cont.

Michaela,

I know this will sound obvious (especially to a vet student),
but have you tried upping her pred. You said she had
insulinoma and when I tried to get Icabod on Proglycem and
wean him off Pred because of his heart, he got really sick. He
wouldn't eat, was grinding his teeth, lethargic and just all
around acting sick to his stomach. We did put him on GI meds
(clavamox <- because we also thought it might be his teeth,
carafate and increased pred). Once I upped his pred again, he
was doing great. Have you done a recent bg?

Hope you both feel better soon,
Stephanie

Well, I finally got a temp on Mighty Mouse. It's
103.6.
Technicially a fever, but it took quite a struggle to
get the temp, so it's possible it's from the stress.
I was thinking of giving her some pepto, only because
when my others (few years ago) had ECE, pepto was one
thing that helped (granted the Tylan really did the
trick with them - but that was a different situation).
It's just killing me watching her lay there. She
looks like she's in so much pain. She's always been so
energetic and full of life. I hate feeling this
helpless. I really hope this is just a bug that will
pass.

Thanks to everyone for listening,
