I think at this point, even though initially it didn't sound like
ECE, I would treat it as such unless some other cause can be
determined.
That means primarily supportive care. A bland, easily digestible
diet (chicken baby food) is better than even softened kibble, so I
would go with that. Keep a sharp eye out for dehydration. Feel his
gums, they should moist and slippery.
Some don't agree with the Pepto, but in our shelter, it seemed to
work well to help the ferret feel a little better and more apt to
eat. We gave the exact does you're giving.
