Subject: response to hind leg weakness

I had a ferret that exhibited hind leg weakness of sudden onset and duration, as well as virtually overnight pale mucous membranes, as initial symptoms of a cortisol producing adrenal gland tumor. Check you ferret's mucous membranes. If they are pale, get him to the vet immediately. My ferret went from a healthy ferret to a dead ferret in less than 3 weeks. Adrenal tumors were found at autopsy. We went to several vets with him in the 3 weeks time, and none correctly diagnosed him. $2,000 worth of inappropriate treatment finally paralyzed, then killed him.
