Subject: Proglycem Pros and Cons
I have used Proglycem (diazoxide) on two ferrets, with excellent
results. Dooker is doing well on it currently. Peaches did well on it
for 18 months before succumbing to an unrelated medical problem. None of
mine have ever had a low blood sugar episode once they were placed on
the Proglycem. I also "supplement" with a high protein diet, including
Bob Church's Chicken Gravy (without the sweeteners) - love that stuff -
and I don't give any fruits or carbs (no raisins, no cheerios, etc).
Seems to work for me, so far.
