Merial is almost ready to release their new ferret approved distemper
vaccine - my vet was one of the ones selected for the trials, and even
ferrets who had reacted badly in the past did well - no reactions even
though the owners were not allowed to pre-medicate for the trials.
However, one ferret did react, badly - my best friend's ferret, who had
already reacted badly to the Fervac - but he was the only one out of
about 400 - a big improvement. Merial is looking at a release date in
October. By the way, I have always pre-medicated with oral Benadryl, and
I intend to continue, as an added precaution ...
