Hi Christopher & list,

regarding adrenal odors- indeed here over & over again we get varying
smells which in my nose resemble burnt popcorn. I have also noticed the
more distinct urine smell too-- but that is more a trigger I find with
liver / kidney ailments... not to say that it won't occur strictly with
adrenal conditions.

One thing I have found over the years is when an un-tattooed female with
swollen vulva is presented- the intact ferret will present a strictly
hormonal smell which is often like coffee, while the adrenal female will
have a burnt something odor.. this is putting aside the other signals like
coat condition, patchiness, etc.

We should perhaps catalog a scent / symptom list for giggles-- how
unscientific!
