Dear Jaclyn:

I'm baking up Ben on this one. Anytime that the WBC gets into 5
digits (over 10,000) indicates inflammatory, infectious, or rarely
neoplastic disease. The fact that the majority of cells are
neutrophils suggest either inflammatory or infectious disease, and
that it is more likely acute rather than a chronic infection that has
been going on for months. The use of antibiotics here is justified,
but unforatunately, as the remainder fo the values are within normal
ranges, we can't go much farther with this bloodwork.
