Subject: Re: Stress busters and smelling ferrets

For our vet trips we have a piece of plexi-glass left at the clinic to
wedge into the doorway of the exam room. When we get there either one of
the techs or I get it and set it up. Then we open the cages and let the
ferrets explore. This helps to reduce stress on the little ones and also
gives our vet a chance to see them in action. He's very careful with his
feet too since he has little yorkies at home. :-) The techs will
sometimes stand outside the door looking in to see what the ferrets are up
to. :-) Oh, and this also gives the vet the opportunity to get fresh
elimination samples. :-)

O.k. for the past two nights I've been smelling ferret tails. Nancy came
by last night and said one out of the 7 we sniffed smelled like grape
soda. I couldn't smell it as such and I have an excellent sniffer. Study
will continue tonight....

Hugs to all. tle
