Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Kidney Failure: Experience of vets
*&* non-vets

I can only tell you to one, check the archive lists for
info on kidney failure and two, my oliver has been in
kidney failure for 5 months or so and doing great. He
started by staying at the vets for 3+ days on an iv to
help flush his kidneys and after several different
types of treatment is on the following and has been for
4 months. A modified diet for renal failure both wet
and dry with some a/d and h20. Flutimide for enlarged
prostate, prednisone (low dose), metamucil (fiber),
joint saver powder, zantac for nausea, derma cap
liquid. Let me also say that oliver had several rounds
of being blocked and unable to pee so i give him lots
of h20 to help that. Hope you have luck and do check
out the archive list. Dee and my 7.
