Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Revolution

Revolution is to prevent heartworm, not to kill them. A blood test is usually run before any heartworm prevention program. It will get rid of fleas and mites, and helps to control other parasites. I asked a representative from Pfizer once whether it was safe for ferrets and she said yes, but I think that is off label.

IMHO, Advantage is cheaper. Anyway, I'm sure you want to get the biggest
size you can get and take out just a couple of drops to put on each
ferret. Since Revolution is supposed to kill heartworms, I have to ask
if your ferrets have been tested for heartworm. It's dangerous to kill
heartworms in ferrets.
