Hi Weez. I am NOT a vet, but I DO have epilepsy.

Evidently it is a very rare disease among ferrets (or there hasn't been much
info done), so please do a lot of researching before you give up.

There are many different types of seizures (or kinds, as you refer to them).
Seizures (or fits) are symptoms of epilepsy. Petit Mal seizures are the
simplest form.

Some questions need to be asked. How old is your ferret, and how long have
you had him/her? Has it had trauma/stress? What "type" of epilepsy does
the vet say your ferret has? etc.

Also, remember that seizures are not painful even though they may LOOK it.
(That is, unless a fall and/or break occurs due to a seizure--which would
not be the case with petit mal seizures).

Try to get more information than just your vet saying there is no cure.

Just my two cents worth. Good Luck, and I will be looking to see if things
have changed.
