Subject: yet another mystery illness

Hey All,

My vet has asked me to contact the various ferret groups I belong to
about symptoms in a ferret he is treating. He sent the message to me
via the shelter mom, Linda, so this is all the info I have at the
moment. This is not a ferret at our shelter so we have no history on
it. I will be emailing my vet to get more info. Please let me know
what other info might be needed to unravel this mystery.

Symptoms include lethargy and a consistant fever of 107+. There are
no other symptoms. With antibiotic treatment the fever comes down to
105 + or - a few tenths. All blood work is commming back in normal
rangse. An exploratory was preformed and everything looked normal.

I will be emailing the vet and asking for the specifics on the
bloodwork, if biopsies were done and from where and what kind of
antibiotic was used. Also the age, sex and general condition of the
ferret, possible medical history etc. Is there any other information
that I should ask him for to help give a clue as to what is going
on? Are there any other tests that could be preformed that would
give more information?

Thanks so much for any help you guys can give. Please send replies
to my new email addy of scruffyou@e... or post to the list.

HappyTails,

Karen and the Scruff You Gang
