Subject: Impacted Scent Glands
Now that some of the vets seem to be around, I would like to ask my
question again. What are the symptoms of an impacted anal scent
gland? I thought that Emma might have that problem a week or so ago
(smell permeated the entire house) but the smell has gone away.
I have looked in every ferret book I have and haven't found any
information other than the procedure for removing the scent gland. I
don't remember this ever being discussed on this (or any other) list
before.
I have had several with intact scent glands but have never had a
problem. Just want to be prepared in the event I do.
