Subject: IMPACTED SCENT GLANDS!

If the ferret has impacted scent glands they are very
easy to feel, by pressing gently on either side of the
anus, if they feel hard as rock, then they are
impacted and should be taken care of by your vet! They
can be expressed, but if it has been going on a while
the vet will need to take a look to make sure that
they do not need to be removed!
Normally when a ferret has scent glands you will
experience a stench sometimes, if the ferret has been
frightened or excited it will expel the contents and
the odor will remain for some time. Calming the ferret
first and then a good bath will disperse the smell!
