Subject: SNEEZING FERRET!
It certainly sounds as if the ferret has
something lodged in his nose! We had a ferret at the
shelter a number of years ago who would 'snorkle' in
the litter and he started to sneeze profusely!!
We tried everything and the poor thing would
sneeze so hard, his nose would gush with blood and as
he sneezed the blood would go everywhere!
We even had one of the 'bird vets' run a tiny
endoscopy tube up into the nostrils and they saw
nothing! It was heartbreaking to watch him have these
fits of sneezing! After several months and much
pleading on my part, (as being a very delicate part of
the anatomy to do surgery on, no-one wanted to)SURGERY
WAS PERFORMED and we were surprised at the result!
A 'tiny bone fragment' was retrieved, after that no
more sneezing and the ferret fared well for the rest
of his life!---Angela.
