Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Digest Number 401

In response to sneezing ferret; our ferret Molly had a severe
allergic reaction to the distemper vaccine and had anaphylactic
shock. Luckily the vet acted quickly and saved her life, but she
sneezed for months afterward. It was horrible and severe. Nothing
helped, not even benadryl. My uneducated opinion was that she
somehow damaged the delicate tissue inside of her nose. During the
bad allergic reaction she was vomiting violently and she also
vomited and pooped blood. We are really lucky she made it through
such an ordeal. Anyhow poor Molly was somewhat relieved by the use
of saline nose drops and we kept her protected when she had these
terrible sneezing fits of sometimes 20 in a row. I feel for you it
is sad to watch them when they sneeze, their whole bodies jerk
around. Good luck.
