It's epinephrine.
I would worry that if the spleen is friable, patting or squeezing it
down might cause it to rupture.
Schultz had a 9 ounce spleen and the vet didn't do anything yet he
did just fine. I gave him lots of Pet-tinic afterwards to build up
his blood.
