Dear Susan -
No a regular microscope would do fine. Actually, I don't recommend
investing tons of money into a microscope that you will view stool
samples on - they tend to get a bit yucky over the years, and the
magnification that you need to see most parasites really isn't all
that high - far less than to adequately read blood smears.
