Subject: just a little tidbit on activated charcoal

At the emergency clinic that I used to work at, we always
stomach tubed an animal to give charcoal and barium. The
clinic that I work at now, we've only tubed one animal for
charcoal, just because it was a really fractious dog who
refused to swallow it. The rest have had no problems in
swallowing barium or charcoal from a syringe, including
ferrets. (Well, I've never given a ferret charcoal, but none
have seemed to mind the barium too much) Barium has a hint
of a strawberry taste, never tasted the charcoal.

On a different note--I'm trying to find the other pictures
that Ulrike put in a folder entitled "medical pictures" or
something--I cannot find that folder. Can you instruct me
please?

Thank you,
Sandy
