Subject: Re: Cleo's Adrenal Cancer

It may not have made any difference.

We have a tricky one who sounds like that, too. Seven of Six has
a right side adrenal tumor that has done the rare thing and
grown right into the Vena Cava instead of being attached and
made the vein's integrity questionable, but she does not have
enough new circulation around it developed at this point that the
Vena Cava can be safely ligated. She might one day bleed out
all on her own without warning, or she might be around for a try
at the ligation which still will be tentative.

It possibly was something none of you could have done
anything about that would have happened anyway. You tried your
best and that is all that any of us can ever do in this life.

standard procedure, but upon opening her up they found that her

began to hemoridge. They were able to stop the bleeding but
her heart couldn't withstand the stress of the surgery. We lost
Cleo. I do not know where to turn next. I feel that maybe if I had
not gone through with the surgery she might have been okay. I
am worried about what is going to happen to her brother Alex
when Cleo doesn't come home. Right now I am just questioning
everything I did. Was there something else I could have done to
help her ...and is there something I can do for Alex? Thank you
so much for all of the advice I received regarding Cleo prior to
surgery. She was my very first fuzzy friend when I moved out on
my own...she will be missed immensely.
