Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Beginning signs of adrenal?

A friend of mine had a cat who had that problem and the
reason was that he was bored and was chewing his tail just to
do something. After she got him some toys, he was just fine
and the hair grew back.

You may want to check with your vet just in case it's
something medical...

My fiancée Amy and I have adopted 4 of the Utah ferrets. One
of them, "Pirate Sam", has what appears to be a "thinning" of
the fur on his tail. The tip is still thick, and apparently
full, it's the middle part, mostly on one side that is getting
thin.
We do not know how old he is, he does have a vet appointment
this Wed.
Is there something else that could be causing this besides
adrenal?
