Subject: Arimidex vs. Lupron or others?

In Mar. 2000, our 4-yr. old ferret had adrenal surgery, with the
entire left and approx. 80% of the right removed. In mid-July of
this year he started to show symptoms again after some sort of
reaction that caused him to have a rash and lose hair on his back
near the neck and on the belly right under the neck. About the same
time he started showing more agressive sexual behavior - as he did
the first time. The rash went away, and he did grow some of the hair
back on his belly, but has since lost some again.

We had the hormone test done thru UT, and the same hormone is
elevated as the first time, although not as high. He is bald on the
back from mid-trunk to neck. The lower trunk and tail are thin, but
not bald. He is not showing signs of growing a winter coat yet.

Per our vet's recommendation, we have him on 1/10 of a tablet of
Arimidex per day until symptoms reverse, and then every day with a
week on/week off. We have been doing this for approx. 15 days.

We have yet to see any reversal on the hair loss. He has
continuously been energetic, and is eating well.

Most adrenal info talks about Lupron... is that a better choice? How
long should the meds take to reverse the symptoms, assuming they
work? Are there any other recommendations?

Thanks!
