Subject: Scantily Clad Ferrets

Cedes had a bilateral adrenalectomy on July 31.
At the time, he was balding on his rear. Since
his surgery, he has lost lots more fur. His fur
is sparse all the way up to his neck. In
addition, the shaved area on his tummy is just as
sparse. When should I start to worry? I haven't
worried too much until now since his tummy fur
wasn't growing back either. But, now I'm
beginning to wonder.

I have no idea when their normal coat changes
occur. Maybe I'm being a little overly anxious.
I live in North Florida and usually don't notice
dramatic coat changes like those of you in more
northern areas. At the most, I will notice more
fur on my clothes.

At what point should I possibly run the UT panel
to see if there is still a problem? If you
recall, Cedes electrolytes tested just fine after
about 6 weeks on pred (early September).

Any and all suggestions welcome.
