Subject: Thermometers

The ones made for children won't work, ferrets, and I think
cats,dogs
have an L shaped canal, because of the bend the ear
thermometer's
"beam" would bounce off the canal wall instead of the Tympanic
membrane- which is what is needed for the reading,
I actually don't like them period, but I guess they work for
some,
for me they were inaccurate if there was wax in the canal,
angle
was wrong,or there was a very inflammed TM.

I was wondering if anyone had tried the ear scan
thermometers on ferrets and/or other animals? Do these give
an accurate reading? Does anyone have both kinds that can
test? TIA...the furkids say there has to be a better way!
