Of course there may be some factor with which we are not aware, but
one would think that if there was any hope that an ultrasound would
reveal a slightly enlarged adrenal gland that a missing kidney would
be detected! One only needs to look at the introductory photo that
is currently on this site to see the size difference of a kidney vs.
an adrenal gland.

Your options at this point are to find a vet who is comfortable going
after a right adrenal that you already know is involved with the vena
cava or drug treatment.
