Well, to be clear, I had never tried the armpit method, but TLE mentioned
it in this discussion. I've always just taken them rectally. However,
since I still had the flexible digital thermometer out from taking a
picture of it earlier, and I also had my little fuzzy friend Nana here
sleeping beside me, I just tried it. It sat on "L" (low) for several
seconds, and then it started to creep upwards. It finally read 101.1
which would be normal, low normal really. I haven't verified what Nana's
temp is rectally, though. Just seems cruel since she's feeling fine!
But it seems to have given a ballpark accurate figure... I'll try both
methods again next time I have reason to suspect someone is either too hot
or too cool and report back. Hopefully that will be a good while from
now. ;)

Troy Lynn, any details you can fill in??
