Subject: Re: Scantily Clad Ferrets

Talked to Cedes' vet this a.m. about his fur not growing back in
following his bilateral adrenalectomy. Doc would like to give him a
few more weeks, as the days shorten, before we take any action. At
that time, if he hasn't improved, we will probably run the UT panel.
Cedes feels fine so Doc sees no reason to rush at this point. I'm OK
with that. I did tell Doc that I would not want to put Cedes through
another surgery so quickly at his age. I would opt for Lupron
instead.

On the subject of short tails, Champ had a short tail his entire life
and it never bothered him one bit. Apparently (according to the
breeder) his mom either got a little over-zealous cleaning him after
birth or it was a birth defect. The first time Paul (breeder) saw
Champ after birth, there were some vertebrae sticking out. I always
thought his short tail (abour 4" long) was pretty cute.

Also asked Doc to look into ordering the new distemper vaccine. Does
anyone know whether Florida has approved it for distribution?
