My only experience with this was waaaay back in 1997. We had a terrible ice
storm and power lines were down for more than 2 days. What we did was close
off the bedrooms and move all the ferrets into our living room where we had a
fireplace. And then we kept the fire going. Healthy ferrets of course
tolerate the cold better - we had a hairless girl at the time and she was in
front near the fire with a temperature probe at her cage to make sure it
didn't get too hot.
If I had to guess, I'd say mid forties for the healthy ferrets is about as
low as you would want it to get. Below that then you start worrying about
water freezing and hyperthermia.....with sick kids, no less than the 60's
IMO.....
Plenty of towels of course help keep them warmer....
