Subject: Re: Scantily Clad Ferrets
Our scantily clad ferret (Hobbes) had bilateral cryosurgery in March
of this year and has subsequently been on a regimen of pred (.3 cc 1x
day) and Percortin (1x every 4 weeks). Our vet, who is very ferret
knowledgable, has seen Hobbes every month and has not brought up the
idea of affected tissue remaining. So though it sounds like there is
a possibility that affected tissue remains that may be causing
adrenal-like symptoms, I wonder how common this is in cryosurgery?
Two questions: 1, is Florinef a substitute for Percortin injections?
and 2, would Lupron injections help ease the itchiness of his skin?
Hobbes (the poor thing itches *so* much) sincerely appreciates any
advice anyone has!! We will try (and have already tried a lot!)
anything to help him!
cheers,
Tamara
