Stress can contribute to a hypoglycemic episode, which is what it
sounds like Tom was going though. The "panting" and drooling sounds
like a minor seizure. They often lay there, out of it, and every
couple minutes or so, gasp, pant or breath rapidly a few times then
go back to the semi-comatose state. I've seen this more than once
after a stressful situation.
