Subject: not acting right

Muggles, my (?) 18 month old ferret has not been acting like hisself
lately. He seems to be extra lethargic, not wanting to get up in the
morning, climbs into my bed and sleeps under the blankets all day
long. When we make him get up, all he wants to do is snuggle. If I
put him on the floor, he move a few inches, flattens out, and rests
or falls back to sleep. His feces is normal in color, but seemed to
have mucus in it. He is still taking treats, if you bring him to
them, but doesn't run off to eat them in solitude like he used to.
He did feel a little warm last night, but that could have been
because he was asleep in his sleepsack, the bottom of a stack of six
ferrets. It is also my opinion that he has lost his pudginess,
although this may be just the results of loosing his baby-fat (my
others seemed to loose baby-fat around 18 months - 2 years old).

Our somewhat ferretwise (but willing to learn) vet is out of town for
the next few days, and there partners are not ferretwise vets. The
next closest thing is 120 miles away. I have made an appointment for
when the vet returns, but anything that I can do, should look out
for, would be appreciated. After loosing the "papa" of the business
two months ago, I get overly concerned when another is not his/her
self.

Thanks in advance,

Lynn Toole
