Subject: Insulinoma in a 8 month
I am in agreement and a word of caution:
When I brought my fert to a vet to have him tested for
insulinoma they sent out his blood work to a lab, so
the blood sat out for days. This causes the BC to
drop, giving a lower reading than normal. So, my vet
calls me and tells me he has insulinoma and that we
need to operate. I wanted a second opinion since I
wasn't convinced and I didn't quite like the lack of
ferret knowledge my vet had (I am in CA and it's hard
to find vets that know ferrets). I went to another vet
that does on site blood testing, they don't send it
out to a lab) and the blood glucose came back normal.
So, you may want to look into that.
My 2 cents.

<We were just old on friday that our 8 month old
ferret has Insulinoma. <
I agree with Mike. Eight months old is mighty
young. I too would be interested in how this was
diagnosed.
Not to be totally negative, but are you sure the
vet didn't say lymphoma?
