Subject: Re: skin tumors - alternative treatments

Chances are no symptoms will appear till it's too late
unfortunetly.

We just removed two tumors off a very very old man of 11. We
were extremely hesitant to remove because of age..but one was
on his nose black and growing quickly.

They were malignant. But he was eating like a horse..normal
for the fatty that he is, activity normal...nothing other than the fact
of the unsightly looking uglies on him.

Nike when a year old had a tumor about the size of a
..oh..apricot..on his neck. Also no symptoms at all other than
the ugly thing. Dr. Williams did the biopsy on that one...that was
back in...oh...98 or 99'. It was also malignant and weird.
Luckily my vet got all of it and it never returned there or anywhere
else. But if we had waited...I don't know.

So...I agree with Mike..remove and biopsy. Mast cells are
common..but you don't know if your ferrets is going to be the
common ...or have something a little more uncommon.

cells) for weeks now. One seemed to grow and then flattened
out and almost looks dimpled. The hair on his head doesn't
grow on this area anymore. How do you know when to get a
biopsy for something like that? If it were malignant, would there
be other signs like loss of appetite or other symptoms?
