Subject: adrenal surgery

Okay, everyone, Rommel just came home from surgery tonight to
have his right (and only remaining) adrenal gland removed.
It's been about 6 hours since he came home and he's been out
of surgery since 2pm. He is very sluggish and can hardly
move. He tried going to the bathroom and only squeezed poop
the size of a pea out and couldn't find the strenght to get
himself out of the litter pan. I had to lift him out and put
him under the blanket. He hasn't touched his food or water
yet... The vet gave amoxi-drops and prednisone. But he said
the prednisone should only be used if he appears to be weak.
I was under the impression before surgery that he'd be on
constant medication for life.

I'm a little confused... any insight on this?
