Subject: Yoda update...strange behavior.
I rushed Yoda to an emergency vet clinic in Birmingham right after I
wrote my emails.
His problem was of course he couldn't urinate. She tried to
catherize him but his penis was inflamed because he had been messing
with it. It took him a while to wake up after she sedated him.
That part really worries me.
I saw him after he came too, and he was acting tired but okay. He
is staying there now so they can drain his bladder periodically,
until I can get him to the clinic that was going to do his adrenal
surgery tomorrow morning. Dr. xxxx will take over and hopefully
after adrenal surgery Yoda will make a full recovery.
The emergency vet called a few minutes ago and about gave me a heart
attack. she said she wouldn't call unless he took a turn for the
worse....but she just called to tell me that he was doing fine....had
eaten and drank some water.... they were keeping a check on his
bladder and she had talked to Dr. xxxx. She said she still
considered him critical though.
I feel horribly guilty that he was blocked earlier and I didn't
know. He acted fine last night....he was running around like usual.
acting fine. I also feel guilty that after last friday I didn't
find a vet to do his adernal surgery. This vet I'm using tomorrow
was on vacation.....but I felt he would be best to use and I was
waiting. *sigh* I just hope Yoda recovers from all of this. It
really bothers me that he took so long to wake up after the
sedation.
anyway, I'll update again tomorrow after I go transfer him to
Riverview and talk to the vet there.
