Subject: Synulox/ augmentin question
Hello
I've got a question regarding synulox. I get it from the vets if the
ferrets need it and the tablets are 50 mg tablets and the dose is usually 10
mg per kg. But I've also got a bottle of augmentin from the chemist, it's
pulverized and you have to add 100 ml of water to make up the suspension.
What confuses me is that it's 125 mg amoxycillin and 31.25 mg clavulanic
acid per 5 ml. Which ingredient determines the dose? The amoxycillin? Or
do I add both ingredients together and then figure out how many ml's contain
10 mg? With the 50 mg synulox tablets I don't know whether they are 50 mg
of amoxycillin or whether both the amoxycillin and clavulanic acid are in
the 50 mg...
