Subject: Wrong Medication
My son took his healthy 5yr old male to the vet for treatment of a
slight skin rash. The vet prescribed Resicort leave-on conditioner.
My son gave the ferret his normal bath and applied the resicort as
directed.
the next morning when we went to play with the ferret, he was very
lethargic and when my wife put him on the sofa next to her he could
not walk, all he could do was drag his hind legs.
Of course we called the vet and brought him there right away. While
getting ready to go there, I grabbed his Resicort. It was then I
noticed that the bottle said Resihist not Resicort.
I asked the vet about this and he said the tech had given my son the
wrong bottle. The vet said he did not think this was the cause of the
ferrets loss of use of his rear legs. Can anyone tell me if Resihist
could do this ?
Thanks in advance,
George
