When I went on my honeymoon, my ferrets were in their cages for
about five days. My mom came in and checked their food and water
everyday. I didn't really have any ferret knowledgable ppl to ask to
let them out.
They were fatter, but otherwise fine. My mom had heaps of food in
their bowls. and their litter pans were horrible. the entire house
stunk due to dirty litter pans. but they were both happy and fat.
I wouldn't leave them without asking someone to drop by every day and
make sure things look okay. I know my husband had talked with
someone who had two ferrets and they left to go on vacation and when
they came back, their air conditioning had went out(it gets stifling
here in the summer) and both ferrets perished. Weird stuff happens
while your away....washer goes haywire and floods the house, toilets
leak...I've heard it all really. I think it would pay to have
someone drop by everyday just to make sure things look alright. not
to mention activity keeps would-be burglars away..
