Subject: Yoda update...

Yoda pulled his cathater out twice since he has been at the
vets. I didn't know about the first time. but he is urinating on
his own now. He does have a urinary track infection too...but he is
on antibodics. The plan is to go in the remove the adrenal tumor
Thursday. I asked the vet about the infection and he said Ideally of
course, we wouldn't want to do surgery on a sick pet, but in this case
it is YOda's only chance..because without surgery he will
definately perish. I don't know if he thought I was going to tell him
not to do it or what because I didn't mean that at all. I was just
wondering just exactly how the infection will complicate the outcome
of surgery. I suppose it is pretty complicated now anyway....

I felt alot better after talking with the vet. They have moved Yoda
into a larger cage complete with a litter pan. They are checking to
ensure he can still urinate on his own. He is eating and
drinking..and up until last night he was being given fluids
introvenously but he pulled out his iv catheter too. The vet said
their going to wait until Thurday to put another in and give his veins
time to recoop.

Needless to say, I'm a nervous wreck. This week is creeping by and it
is killing me. I guess most of you know how I feel, since you have or
have had sick ferrets before. I want him back doing his dance and
unplugging my internet connect and biting my feet while he tries to
take my socks off. I miss the little guy.
