<Just a note here, not about the lupron. Some ferrets with severe
hair loss from adrenal disease never get there hair back. It does
not mean the adrenals are still active, but that the follicles were
damaged from the hormone levels. These ferrets have normal TN panels
when tested. I do recommend checking regularly though, or using
lupron, just in case (and for the reasons stated so well by others).<
I do want to run the UT panel just to see for sure whether there is
residual tissue. If it is positive, we will definitely start Lupron
(at least that's what I want to do). If the panel comes back
negative then I suppose we do nothing but continue to test
occasionally (every 6 months??). Is this right?
Wish I'd saved all that fur he lost....could knit him a winter coat
for his poor naked body <g>. I tried to get a picture of him last
night but he was most uncooperative.
Thanks for your help, once again, Dr. Karen!
