Subject: Re: Jilly's gone as well now...
Dear Dr Williams
Thank you for letting me know about the best way to euthanise a ferret. My
vet did eventually give Jilly gas and injected into the heart so we'll do
that every time from now on.
I said to my vet that it was your fault that we're now interested in
observing post mortems. ;-) I just wish I'd done it before and seen
Barney's mass in his chest. Or Igor's calcified pancreatic tumour. It is
so interesting. In my last mal about Jilly I did forget to say that of
course she had a massive weird looking tumour on her pancreas as well and
everything has gone to the lab. Can they have just one huge islet cell
tumour? I have pictures of it and the liver and spleen. My vet is amazed
how we have started watching the post mortems, usually I just cry my eyes
out and now I watch everything and don't cry at all... I have just had to
detach myself from it with Spike and Jilly, otherwise I'd crack up now. I
can't think about them for even one scond or I'd just crack and I can't
afford to do that so I just don't think about it and pretend it didn't
happen.
I have got Spike's lab results and will type it out for you later on. It
was lymphoma. I have also asked my vets to write a report so I will send it
all to you when I've got all the bits.
Best wishes
Ulrike
