Subject: Re: treating lympho, but now hair loss and what looks like
seizures?

Thanks for your response, Mike. Yes, he has lots of symptoms of
conditions other than lymphoma. The more i info i can find helps.
Hope i can find a good ferret doc here.

He takes .30 ml prelone 2X daily for his lymphoma, but the swelling's
still there, not getting any smaller.

Teeth grinding combined with head-jerk, are those seizures?

Are bald ferrets extra sensitive to cold? Do they need heating in
their cage? i keep a lot of soft fabric and blankies for him to
sleep in, his cage is in my bedroom but it gets chilly. I don't want
to overheat him either. oh, what to do!

with sincere appreciation,
madison

Poor little guy. Sounds like he's sure going through a lot. I don't
have any personal experience with Lympho, so I can't comment on
that. It does sound like he might be having some minor seizures as a
result of low blood glucose. Seizures can look pretty scary, but I
don't believe there's any pain involved. The prelone should be
helping, but I don't know how lympho might affect things. What kind
of dose is he getting?

Hair loss with adrenal disease isn't usually sudden. The hair loss
that has been going on for a few months does sound like it could be
adrenal related. Some of the other health problems may be a
contributing factor.

Some ferrets definitely live past nine years, but it's not that
common. I've heard of 14 year old ferrets, although those are
unverified claims.
