Subject: Questions about the Postulate (sp?) Gland & Blockage

I have a few questions about my ferret's problems. I wonder if anyone can
help...

I have an albino ferret that's around five yrs old. My ferret used to
urinate often in little amounts. I took him to the local vet. which the
people had recommended. The vet had told me that my ferret has his
postulate gland enlarged by just looking at him, no testing. He gave us
some antibiotics, used for two weeks, but it didn't really help. Now,
anyway, he seems he has a hard time to use the bathroom either to poop or
urinate. I cleaned the litter box and saw something that looked like small
plastic eraser pieces. I also took him a bath and discovered above where he
urinates from, it feels sort of hard about 1 inch around his stomach. I'm
not sure if this is because of a blockage or because of the postulate gland?
If it is because of the postulate gland enlargement, is there a way to
cure it? I also gave the ferret laxatone for the blockage. It made him
feel like to go use the bathroom but nothing came out. Do you know of any
way to help the blockage...? I'm kind of worried. Please email ASAP!
Thanks.

-Alison
