Subject: bilateral adrenalectomies/DOCP/florinef

Just wanted to give 2 cents in on the bilateral info. I feel
like I've been taking too much and not giving! :-) It's not
much, but...Cokie was put on florinef and prednisone right
after her second adrenalectomy, and then was tested twice a
week (if I remember correctly) until her electrolytes were
within normal range--a couple weeks--and then I believe every
week or maybe every two weeks for a few more weeks, and then
monthly for a little bit and now (after 2 1/2 years) she gets
tested every two months (although it ends up more often than
that cause she goes in for other things). I prefer the daily
florinef over the DOCP--I can't imagine having to watch her
for signs of Addison's disease to determine when to take her
in. Even if I went in regularly though I'd worry that it had
"worn off" towards the end of the period. I did read
somewhere though, that the DOCP sometimes provided "superior
control". (sorry so vague) I still like florinef.

That's all I got.
