Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Synulox/ augmentin question

"What confuses me is that it's 125 mg amoxycillin and 31.25 mg clavulanic
acid per 5 ml. Which ingredient determines the dose? The amoxycillin?
Or
do I add both ingredients together and then figure out how many ml's
contain
10 mg? With the 50 mg synulox tablets I don't know whether they are 50
mg
of amoxycillin or whether both the amoxycillin and clavulanic acid are in
the 50 mg...

I am not familar with Synulox. Augmentin is Amoxicillin and CLavulanic
acid and the dosing is 20-40 mg/kg/day divided 3 times a day, and in the
newer formulation is 25-45mg/kg/day divided 2 times daily. It is based
on the Amoxicillin component, and the same dosing can be applied to
amoxicillin alone.

Thank you to everyone who answered my question about the eyelid problem,
I think the consensus was to have it removed, and I was thinking (hoping)
it was nothing. Anyway, I have to bring him for shots soon so I will
have it looked at.

Here is a pic, the underside of it is the same color and consistency as
the underside of the eyelid.
