Subject: Diarrhea....ECE still?
The ferrets contracted ECE last August, were pretty much over
it by October. I got two more ferrets in June and they both
came down with it. Two of the ferrets (Fritz and Poo) never
got over the diarrhea, but Poo responds to pred pretty well
while Fritz does not. Now, in addition to them, Cinnamon is
having some nasty poops, and Scooter and Jezz are having it
off and on. They've all gone thru their fall shed (Cinny is a
little disconcerting....watching her for adrenal), so I
wouldn't think it would be the stress from that. Nothing else
has changed; routine is the same, food is the same, nothing
has been added or taken away, etc. Is it the ECE taking hold
again? What sort of diagnostics should I be doing?
Treatments? (I put Fritz back on the A/D - baby food regimen
again for two weeks, and his poops were even worse) Fritz and
Poo have their good days and lethargic days. When Cinny is
going thru her bouts of diarrhea, she is a little lethargic as
well, but Scooter and Jezz have no change in their energy
levels. Advice would be greatly appreciated.
