Subject: Re: Baytril

Baytril is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic and comes in injectable, enteric
coated, and chewable tablets. We use either injectable or chewable (22.7
mg at 1/4 a tablet daily).

Baytril has a very bitter flavor (I tasted it and it's a bit
less bitter than chloremphenical and chloremphenical lingers
longer). Medications or supplements containing iron, zinc, magnesium or
aluminum will bind enrofloxin (Baytril) and prevent absorbtion so they
should not be given at the same time.

Baytril works well on prostate and urinary tract infections. We've also
used it in conjuction with amoxi with good results.

Baytril is listed as being toxic to humans.
