Subject: Booger's Surgery
Dr. Williams,
You may remember that we discussed Booger's condition on Jun 19th and
22nd. He had a huge spleen and apparent insulinoma, but no symptoms.
Well, he finally started acting lethargic and the spleen became so
large I was worried that it might rupture. Had the spleen removed and
his vet found one nodule on his pancreas, so removed just the one
lobe. The pathlogy report said "Islet Cell tumor" and "sever spleenic
congestion". The borders of the lobe of the pancreas were clear so we
got it all.
Yesterday, after he had eaten something, I took his blood glucose and
it was 146. Today he has not been eating on his own, so we are feeding
him soup at 3 hour intervals. I took his blood glucose just before
feeding him, after a 3 hour fast, and it was 118. I'm very pleased
with that.
Just thought you might want to know that your advice was followed and
the results seem to be very good. Thank you.
