Subject: Brae's worse......not keeping anything down. I could be
losing him.
Since last night's post, Brae is even worse. He has been
sick five times since midnight.....he's not even keeping down
his meds. He has fought the Neomycin/Pepto ever since Tuesday
night, but this morning, he actually peed when I was giving it
to him. Could the meds be making him worse? (metoclopramide,
and the Neomycin/Pepto). Should I discontinue the meds for a
day or two and see if he improves? He seems chilled, and he
just is not doing well. Sometimes, he manages to keep his
meal or meds down for 45 minutes to an hour, but often brings
it up within 15 minutes. The last time he vomited was one
quiet projectile of clear watery stuff. Sometimes, he brings
up an amount quickly, then his whole body wracks a few times
until he brings up the rest. His insides are constantly
gurgling. I don't know what else is pertinent to anyone's
guess what this could be, I guess I'm just rambling out of
desperation because I don't know what to do! The practice
where I take him to has no exotics vets on hand until
Monday...I may call a local vet to see if they treat ferrets -
maybe they can help him.
