Subject: Adrenal and Lymphosarcoma

Hi,
I have a ferret that was diagnosed from biopsy with Lymphosarcoma. (He had
tumors above and below one eye.) That diagnosis was three years ago, he has
done really well with pred! My problem is that he has had adrenal symptoms
for over a year. Due to his lymphosarcoma I was advised not to do surgery,
so he has been on Lupron for the past year. Recently, I have noticed he is
dribbling urine and licks that area a lot. I did a quick urine dipstick and
it tested negative for WBC's and nitrate, but a large postive for Hgb. Ph 5.
I figure this may be the start of enlarged prostrate or stones. Does the
presence of hemoglobin indicate one over the other? Or is the only way to
tell is with an X-Ray?
This ferret is just 5 years old. I am now wondering since he has been
seemingly in remission from the lymphosarcoma for so long, should I just
risk doing an adrenal surgery? What are the risks? Does it cause a return of
the lymphosarcoma?

Thank you for your time, any insights to this problem would be greatly
appreciated.

Julie
